The Top Five Regrets - Book Cover

A recent post in Paul Graham’s blog (www.paulgraham.com) called my attention to this book written by Bronnie Ware, a palliative care nurse.

The book was written following the impact of a post in her blog with a title that became the title of the book. The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, is about the most common regrets expressed to her by the people she had cared for. The five regrets can be expressed as this:

  1.  don’t ignore your dreams.
  2.  don’t work too much.
  3. express what you think and feel.
  4. keep in touch with your friends.
  5. stop worrying and be happy.

One of the most important components of any time management system is the periodic review of the list of things to do. These five items are a good think to take into account in the process of task prioritization.
